Checkers Game To Benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society--and MORE!

This Spring we are fortunate enough to work with two amazing women for a wonderful cause.  Mary Beth Wolf and Melanie Shanus are training to run a 1/2 marathon with Team In Training.  Team In Training is a charity program that raises money through various sports activites.  Learn more about them at  http://www.teamintraining.org/.

Mary Beth and Melanie are running the Mayor's Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska in June of this year.  They have each committed to raising $4,500 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).  That's $9,000 total!  We had the opportunity to plan a fundraising event last year to benefit the LLS, and it is such a great organization.

Please check in with us regularly, as we will be posting more about Mary Beth and Melanie, as well as opportunities for YOU to get involved.  Please see below for a chance to catch a great game with family and friends, and raise money for the LLS at the same time!

On Saturday, February 26th Team In Training will be partnering with the Charlotte Checkers for the game at Time Warner Cable Arena Vs. the Connecticut Whales.  While there see honorary teammate, Landon who was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 4.  He will be featured at half-time as the Chick-Fil-A Kid of the Evening!

WHERE: Time Warner Cable Arena

WHEN: Saturday, February 26th, 7pm

DETAILS:  Tickets are $15 (normally $20) and must be purchased in advance.  $6 of the ticket price goes towards their fundraising goals for the LLS.  The seats are in the 'Attack Zone', which is right up close.

To get tickets, contact Mary Beth at marybethwolf@gmail.com

Thank you for taking the time to read this post about such a great cause, and thank you in advance for coming out to support Mary Beth and Melanie, and the LLS!
